The objective of this project was to transform a large “super” cape, built in the early 1980s, into a bright and open contemporary home while integrating the surrounding seven acres of woodlands and meadows. The new kitchen and informal dining area, which includes a two-sided stone and plaster fireplace and seating area, open to a large deck shaded by a pergola. The new master bedroom is crowned with a pendentive dome that cathedrals into the attic space and is separated from the bath by oversized bleached-oak barn doors. The new addition adds a sitting area, informal dining area, and pergola with a renovated kitchen, dining room, media room and living room. The second floor includes a new master suite and cathedraled entry hall. The basement was deepened to accommodate a golf simulator.
